Join us for this all ages art and music festival featuring Jack Tempchin, Mrs. Henry, Fresh Veggies Micro Brass, Puerto, Feliz, Zach Oakley, Sleepy Pearls, Mike Pope, and Justin John Rodriguez.
2019 Songwriters Hall of Fame Inductee Jack Tempchin who wrote the Eagles song "Peaceful Easy Feeling" and has worked with the likes of Emmylou Harrison, George Jones, Glen Campbell and The New Riders of The Purple Sage.
San Diego's legendary rock outfit Mrs. Henry will be backing Mr. Tempchin and playing their highly praised renditions of music from The Band and The Last Waltz. Mrs. Henry is currently riding in full stride from two sold out shows at The Belly Up Tavern, 4 San Diego Music Awards nominations as well as national and international tours in 2022.
Fresh Veggies Micro Brass has been making great waves in the San Diego music scene with their unhinged brand of brass music. Steeped in the traditions of New Orleans Marching Bands but with a heavy psychedelic tinge, this band is unlike anything you've ever heard. Featuring members of Sure Fire Soul Ensemble, Chunky Hustle Brass Band and Finnegan Blue.
Slick and defiant surf rock duo, Puerto, embodies the sound of the Southern California coast. Renowned for their drugged-out Beach Boy melodies, sun-drenched Dr. Dog pop sensibilities and entrancing rhythms. Their debut album Portugal, recorded and produced by Jordan Andreen, is a modern surf rock record blending the genres of jazz, sixties rock, and soul. The album is a sun-drenched classic: a marooning quest to find a coastal refuge.
Feliz is the meeting of scuzzy garage earthiness and ethereal shoegaze. Melodically and lyrically revealing the band's prolific output since its inception has been nothing short of hyperactive. Led by the virtuosic guitar playing and shimmering vocals of Omar Vetyia and a backing band made up of members of Warish and Fazes, Feliz has quickly begun to carve a dedicating following, pulling from many genres of the San Diego underground.
Zack Oakley, most recognized as the leader of Southern California psych giants JOY has gone solo. His new project is still steeped in the kaleidoscope riffage of prog rock but has since expanded into a bluesier and glassier rendition of the genre. In 2021, Zack Oakley’s debut solo album Badlands dropped via his own Kommune Records label, preceded by singles for “Fever” and “Acid Rain,” as well as a cover of Alice Cooper’s “Long Way to Go.”
